Ice-cream Tradition
We visited our usual ice-cream spot while at the beach. De'Nucci's is a yearly tradition, and my kiddos look forward to it every year!

Gerald
Our little Alligator friend we named Gerald. Despite what the Florida law said, Al and Uncle Chase discovered Gerald's love for marshmallows. By the end of the week, Gerald would respond to his name (hoping for a marshmallow) and was actually sad to see us go.
Don't worry, we only interacted with Gerald from behind a fence. Since he still had some of his yellow stripes, I "guesstimated" his age to be around 2-3 years old. |
It will be interesting to see how much he has grown by next summer. |

1st time on a ferry!
Some locals told us about some remarkable seafood in Mayport, FL (small suburb outside Jacksonville), so we hoped on a ferry to shave an hour off our trip. It was our first time ever riding on a ferry! The ride was short, but we enjoyed the scenery and birds.
Picture on the way to dinner via ferry. |
Waiting for everyone to load. |
Our destination, Singletons Seafood Shack. |
My brother Chase and his girlfriend Morgan doubled up with us "old folks" for a night out. |

Mimi's Graduation!
At 61 years old, my mom graduated college with a degree in Business Technology. I don't know many people in their late fifties who could start over after ending a marriage of 32 years, work full time, go to school, and still be a phenomenal Mimi. There are times I feel school is hard for me (homework, kids, and work), but then I remember my mom. She is truly an inspiration to me and her grandchildren.
