Third grade really gave us a run for our money this year. Carter fell behind in math this year, and worked so hard to improve his grade. With lots of practice, he accomplished his goal and exceeded more than our expectation goal. So proud of him! He received the effort award at school!

I am such a terrible mother for forcing my eight year old to eat homemade chicken pot pie and sauteed spinach with garlic. The squirt bottle now enforces him making a decent effort on his meals. We know...we're mean.

UPDATE: He did eat all of his spinach, and picked the peas and carrots out of the pot pie..grrrrrrr.

I am literally three months behind on the "holiday baking," so Layla decided to catch me up today by making some homemade chocolate chip cookies. She made them all by herself too!! What better to do on a rainy day!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas again this year surrounded by family and lots of good comfort food. Santa Claus was extra good to the kiddos as well, but they definitely deserved it after all their hard work.
